Controlled Precision--Optimal Drilling Process

The Bosch bench drill features constant electronics with two gears and flexible speed adjustment via an ergonomic dial wheel for different rpm selections, which will let the sturdy 20 kg tool drill with ease into all materials. A powerful 710 watt motor will deliver speeds from 200-850 rpm in first gear and 600-2,500 rpm in second gear.

Complicated belt changes are a thing of the past as the speed adjustments are done electronically, even during work for step-less setting of speed and torque. The compact multi-switch, which has been designed according to a new switch concept, controls the start, quick stop and control functions in a single control element. Controlled, material-specific speeds can be pre-set easily and accurately thanks to the electronic speed display and Constant Electronics. The innovative digital display ensures the exact drilling depth can be read easily. This also enables rows of holes to be drilled without any problems, such as for wooden structures.

The maximum drilling stroke is 90 mm with a drilling capacity as follows:

• Up to 40 mm diameter in wood
• Up to 13 mm in steel

The bench drill PBD 40 is equipped with an integrated laser drilling guide (Class 2, diode 650 nm), which enables holes to be drilled easily and precisely, with pinpoint accuracy. The LED ensures excellent illumination of the work area to achieve superior drilling results especially at a 90 degree angle. The high quality twin sleeve metal keyless chuck comes with a locking mechanism with a capacity from 1.5 mm up to 13 mm.
